What is an inflatable seal?

It is a flexible device made of elastic materials that can be inflated or deflated to create a hermetic seal. It consists of two or more layers of material, including an inner layer that is pressure-resistant and an outer layer that protects the seal from external agents.

How does an inflatable seal work?

The operation is based on a simple yet effective process that allows them to adapt to the shapes and irregularities of the surrounding surfaces.

The process begins when gas or fluid is supplied to the inflation chamber of the seal. This can be done manually or through the use of an automated control system. The gas or fluid input is facilitated through a specifically designed inflation valve.

As the pressure increases, the elastic material of the seal starts to expand. This expansion allows the seal to adapt to the surrounding shapes and surfaces, filling any gaps and creating a solid barrier between the mounting surface and the mating surface.

When it is necessary to remove the seal, the pressure inside the inflation chamber is reduced, allowing the elastic material to contract and return to its original state.
